Understanding device groups

A device group is a user-defined group that consists of devices that belong to a locally attached array. Control operations can be performed on the group as a whole, or on the individual device pairs in the group. By default, a device can belong to more than one device group.

The user can create a legacy TF emulation from source devices with a SNAP VX snapshot. The prerequisites are:

  • A SNAP VX storage group with a snapshot must exist.
  • A device group must already have been created from this storage group.
  • The device group must also have enough candidate target devices to create the required TF emulation session.
